The State of Louisiana proclaims Blue Plate the “Official Mayo of Po-Boys”

On June 1, 2024, in a ceremony on the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser proclaimed Blue Plate the “Official Mayo of Po-Boys.” The proclamation was part of the NOLA River Fest event held annually in the New Orleans French Quarter. During the festive event, the Egg Yolk Jubilee Band performed a jazzy set in a nod to Blue Plate’s only-the-egg-yolks recipe, which is known as the not-so-secret ingredient that makes Blue Plate Mayonnaise extra rich and creamy.

Ceremony participants included po-boy royalty such as Justin Kennedy of Parkway Bakery & Tavern, CJ Charbonnet of Chisesi Brothers Meats and William Whann of Leidenheimer Baking Co. The Blue Plate team and friends also handed out samples of classic New Orleans po-boy sandwiches, to the delight of the crowd gathered for the event. “We all know that a po-boy without Blue Plate is just a sandwich, but we’re glad to make it official!” said Dan Trahant, Reily Foods Director of Marketing.
