When traveling in the South, we discovered Blue Plate Mayonaise and really liked it. I need to avoid Soy products and would prefer if it was made with a healthier oil. I do have a question, is this product Non GMO?

With regard to your question about GMOs – all of our Blue Plate® mayo and light mayo products are considered GMO products since the soybean oil (and cornstarch) is derived from genetically modified soy.
Our Blue Plate® regular (full fat) mayo products are non-bioengineered, meaning that although they contain ingredients from GMO sources, these ingredients are refined enough to no longer contain components of genetic material.
All of our Blue Plate® light mayo products are bioengineered, meaning that the ingredients (starch in this case) is not refined enough to completely remove the genetic components.
We understand the concerns and are working to replace some of these starches but are having supply chain issues with sourcing this particular ingredient.

As a southeast Louisiana native & resident of New Orleans, Blue Plate Mayonnaise remains the same SUPERIOR quality it always has. All this discussion about a different taste after the new label design is all in people’s heads. It’s ridiculous! I absolutely LOVE the new label design. Geaux Blue Plate!

Sorry, I cannot recommend. I tried and thought it tasted like old stale oil. Blue Plate sent me a coupon which I redeemed and the second jar tasted the same. It is well within expiration date. I’m curious that it may be storage conditions of the gricery store. Regardless, I will not buy again and will stick to Hellmann’s or my own homemade. Thank.you to Blue Plate for ‘trying’ to make it right.

I hope that anyone who accidentally gave this a 1 star rating changes their review. This stuff has literally changed my life. I developed an egg white allergy several years ago. Also, I moved to Kansas shortly before that. I took my husband back to my Homeland (Louisiana) for our honeymoon and totally remembered how special blue plate was. Thank god i read the ingredients (in high hopes that I could eat it) and I must have skimmed over that at least 3 times in utter disbelief that they only use the yolk. Praise the Lord. I haven’t had potato salad in years or chicken salad. Or crawfish dip. Y’all, things are about to get real in my kitchen. ♥️

Hi Jordan, Thank you for sharing your story. Yes, Blue Plate only uses the egg yolk in our mayonnaise. It’s what sets us apart from the other mayonnaise out there. We are so happy that you will now be able to enjoy those delicious hometown, southern recipes again!

Born and raised in Louisiana, I now live in Maryland. I can get by without some things, but not Blue Plate mayonnaise. When I visit N.O.L.A family I always bring enough mayo back to last till next visit. My family says if it isn’t Blue Plate don’t bother.

Having purchased several food items from Walmart to be shipped to me, I was a few dollars short of free shipping so I looked around their site to see if there was anything else I needed. Being a mayonnaise connoiseur (there are very few foods in this world that aren’t better with mayonnaise), I looked at what they offered. I saw Blue Plate, but being 100% yankee, I’d never heard of the brand. The reviews sounded good so I figured, what the heck, and ordered a two-pack. This stuff is GOOD! It is the best mayo of all the brands I have tried. I’m a convert.
